1. HOW DO I CREATE AN ACCOUNT?
Creating an account with Valley Want Ads is easy. Simply click on the REGISTER link on the top menu bar. This will take you to the registration page. The information that you you enter is private and we do not share it with anyone. Once you have entered your information you can log in to post ads. Valley Want Ads is FREE to join and you can post as many ads as you want.

2. I CAN'T LOGIN TO MY ACCOUNT!
If for some reason you can't log in to your account or you forgot your password you can click on the Log-in link from the top menu and then click on Forgot Your Password. You will be required to enter the Username and E-mail address that you signed up with. If we find a match in our database you will see a message that says Your password has been reset. Check your email for instructions.

3. CAN I RENEW MY AD?
Your ad will run for exactly 30 days. Five (5) days before your ad expires you will receive automatic notification to renew your ad again. You will need to login to your ad management area and click on the renew ad link, it will then run for 30 more days from the initial expiration date. You will have a five (5) day grace period after your expiration date to renew your ad, on the sixth day it will be deleted and disappear from your administration area. If you miss the deadline you will have to add your listing again.

4. HOW DO I GET MY AD LISTED AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE?
Simply include a photo with your ad. There is no extra cost for this feature and everyone has an equal opportunity to have their ad featured in this location. The ads are displayed randomly. If you included a photo with your ad and don't see your ad displayed at the top, refresh the page and you might see your ad come up.

5. YOU SAY YOU SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESS, SO WHY DO YOU DISPLAY ADS FROM BIG ONLINE COMPANIES?
Our FREE Classifieds are supported by display ad space sold to local businesses. We look forward to the day when we have enough local advertising to support the site. Until then we must rely on income from other advertising sources to cover some of the costs associated with running the site, such as hosting, maintenance and marketing. Rest assured that we will NEVER run a national ad in competition with a local merchant.

6. HOW DO I CANCEL MY AD?
If you have sold your item or want to delete it from Valley Want Ads simply login to your account, find the ad that you want to delete and click on the delete link.

7. CAN I EDIT MY AD?
Yes, simply login to your account and click the link that says edit next to the ad. After you are done making changes click the submit button.

8. I DON'T SEE A CATEGORY FOR MY AD!
We have chosen categories very carefully and used standard categories that many classifieds sites use. We don't normally add and delete categories from our standard selection. If you need help in deciding the best category for your item you can contact us with your ad information and we will guide you in the right direction. If you really think we missed an important category, let us know.

9. I SEE AN INAPROPRIATE AD ON YOUR SITE!
We take pride in Valley Want Ads but can't monitor it 24 hours per day. However we do look over the listings on a daily basis. If you see something that does not look right please let us know so we can do some investigation.

10. DO YOU SHARE MY PRIVATE INFORMATION?

11. THE ADVERISER OF AN ITEM IS NOT GETTING BACK TO ME
Unfortunately we have no control over communication between buyers and sellers. The advertiser contact form sends a message directly to the advertisers email address that they used to place the ad. You may want to try again in a few days, maybe they went out of town.

12. MY IMAGES ARE NOT IN MY LISTING!
Please make sure to read the requirements when placing your ad. There are file type restrictions as well as file size restrictions. If your images are greater than what is allowed you will need to reduce the size. Valley Want Ads is very fair with sizes so the majority of the time you will not have problems.

13. CAN I RUN MY AD LONGER THAN 30 DAYS
We have a 30 day ad term because we want to keep Valley Want Ads fresh and interesting. If we let them run longer than 30 days we find that many ads become obsolete. Valley Want Ads notifies you before your ad is about to expire, so if you really need to run it longer, it will only take you a minute to login and renew your ad for another 30 days.

14. CAN I POST BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES OR MARKETING ADS
We regret that we have discontinued our business opportunities category because of abuse. At this time we do not allow business opportunities, marketing ads, MLM or anything like this. Any such ads will be deleted immediately. Valley Want Ads is for tangible items, employment, and personal announcements only. Repeat posters will have their accounts deleted.

15. MY AD WAS DELETED, WHY?
Valley Want Ads serves the Shenandoah Valley with free ads. When you sign up for an account you are required to use a valid mailing address. If we find that an add has been placed by someone outside the Shenandoah Valley region, we may delete the ad. Duplicate ads are prohibited except as defined in the Terms of Service. If you place a duplicate ad it will be deleted.

16. I POSTED MY AD IN THE WRONG CATEGORY
If you post your ad in the wrong category send us a message and we will place it in the correct one for you. Please do not post a duplicate ad. When we find duplicates we delete them all.

17. IF I POST MY AD HERE, WILL IT ALSO APPEAR IN THE PAPER?
We do not produce a paper version of our classifieds.
